Livable Neighborhoods Program: 2017 Request for Proposals
MAS will provide selected applicants with small workshop budgets and participation stipends, as well as tools and guidance to support their management of workshop agendas, outreach and logistics. MAS staff and program partner Leo Vazquez, Executive Director of the National Consortium for Creative Placemaking, will provide workshop content and facilitation.
Applications will remain open until Tuesday, March 7, 2017. Selected applicants will be notified in early March and must commit to one meeting and a series of planning calls leading up to two public workshops to be held in April and May.
Following participation in the workshop series, partners will be invited to join MAS’s Livable NYC Exchange, a network of LNP alumni and peer capacity building organizations. New Livable NYC Exchange members will be offered a free one-year membership to MAS, including invitations to public programs and events throughout the year.
Successful applicants will include community leaders of many varieties including staff and volunteers with community-based organizations, engaged local residents and business owners, neighborhood and block association members, and Community Board members. 2016 Livable Neighborhoods Program partners included: Bronx Community Board 7, Flatbush-Nostrand BID and HABNET Chamber of Commerce, Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce and Asian Americans for Equality, Northfield Community LDC and Red Hook New York Rising Community Reconstruction Program.
